What do we do?
We conduct activist-informed research, committed to praxis. We define praxis as the enactment and unity of theory, inquiry, and reflexivity for social change
Theory.Critical assessment of research methodologies at the theoretical, conceptual, and practical levels, with an eye towards inclusive scholarship and developing dynamic and relevant theoretical applications.
Inquiry. Creation of knowledge through research, action, and reflection. The commitment to the idea that scholarly-practitioners must actively expose and deconstruct systems of power, or become complicit in them.
Social Change. The interrelations within human interaction that transform cultural and social institutions over time, having a profound impact of society.
"Knowledge emerges only through invention and re-invention, through the restless, impatient, continuing, hopeful inquiry human beings pursue in the world, with the world, and with each other"
Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
