Qualitative research is an art and science,

however, in many doctoral and masters programs

there is little focus on the development of qualitative researchers. Still many students choose qualitative

methodologies to complete dissertations and theses. The result is qualitative scholarship thin in reporting, reliant on simple phrases such as "themes emerged," or a "qualitative approach was employed," leaving potentially rich data sets unexplored and important questions thinly answered. There is even less focus on the power of qualitative research to deconstruct inequalities and work to bending the arc of justice. These challenges are why I  engage in teaching, producing, and consulting on qualitative methodologies. If you have questions about working together please contact me, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have.
